Jennifer Ladner, LICSW

Whatever you are going through you do not have to go through it alone. Flowing Pathways, PLLC is a sanctuary from your stress with solution-focused, compassionate care, created by an experienced practitioner.

My practice helps clients move toward self-discovery and personal growth.

I am committed to helping individuals gain a sense of empowerment, embrace their uniqueness, find increased value in different aspects of life, overcome obstacles, and discover ways to live with greater ease.  I use a holistic, nonjudgmental, compassionate, strength-based approach with an integration of various therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), positive psychology, psycho-education, mindfulness, expressive therapy techniques, and collaboration tailored to each individual’s needs.  My areas of focus address mood disorders, co-existing substance misuse or abuse, life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, marital or family concerns, self-esteem, and career dissatisfaction.

I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois in Chicago and my Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  In addition, I completed the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor program at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.  As a licensed social worker for over 25 years, I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient centers for mental health and substance abuse, private practice, hospitals, skilled care facilities, and nursing homes. I am dedicated to expanding my professional knowledge and keeping up with the current research in the field.  Ongoing learning allows me to increase my ability to provide the most effective, innovative, and individualized treatment.

I also provide therapeutic wellness workshops that incorporate mindfulness and creativity.  I have a non-traditional, self-directed art education that has included decades of participating in dozens of art classes and workshops using several modalities.  I have studied Intuitive Painting which lends itself to the therapeutic process, taken several meditation courses, maintained a daily meditation practice, am a Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP), and completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course through the Center for Mindfulness.  I have integrated many of the skills and benefits acquired across my professional and personal life which I am using to share and help others through learning and experimentation in a supportive environment
